KENNEWICK, Wash. – Top pilots are coming to Kennewick for drone racing.
FPV Racing Seattle, Washington’s first drone racing club, is hosting the MultiGP “Great Northwest Regional Finals”drone race at the Columbia Park soccer fields July 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The race is being held to find out which pilots will qualify for the MultiGP National Championships, which will be held September 13 through 17 in Reno, NV according to a news release.
Pilots from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming have qualified for the event.
Racing Seattle leaders said the event is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage anyone interested in learning more about drones or drone racing to attend.
The pilots will get the full experience by wearing VR-style goggles, which will allow them to see the perspective of their drone in real-time.
