The winners of the fourth annual International Drone Photography Contest organized by Dronestagram and National Geographic have been announced.
The competition drew around 8,000 images across three categories: nature, urban and people. Judging was performed by a panel of experts, including Deputy Director of Photography at National Geographic, Patrick Witty, National Geographic France Photo Editor Emanuela Ascoli, National Geographic Traveler Photo Editor Jeff Heimsath and members of the Dronestagram team. Of the entrants, Heimsath said, “I was blown away by the creativity of the photos in this contest. The photographers used drones to capture the world from new and unique perspectives. The selection process was far from easy, this contest has certainly surfaced the best drone images from around the world”
The 2017 International Drone Photography Contest was supported by a variety of corporate partners, resulting in nice prizes for the top three photos in each category. The first place winners took home a DJI Spark, a large Plexi print from Zeinberg and a Homido virtual reality headset. Second prize winners received a mini Plexi print and Kodak SP 360 4K camera. Finally, third place photographers receive a Droneguard BP 450 AW backpack from Lowepro and a mini Plexi print. Let’s take a look at some of the prize-winning work from the best drone photographers!
